The World's Largest Solar Farm In A Desert

Located in Dalate Banner in China's Inner Mongolia, the "Lead from the Front" solar farm sits in the Kubuqi desert – China's seventh-largest desert. Construction started in 2018, and now over 3 million solar panels have been installed with future expansion to reach an annual electricity generation of 4 billion kilowatt-hours to easily meet the electricity demands of some 2 million households per annum. The project shows China's determination in its green energy drive.
